The purpose of stretching a canvas is to preserve it and prepare it for framing. At Irving Park Art & Frame, our experts can stretch both painted and unpainted canvases. We use various-sized stretcher bars, from lightweight to gallery wrap styles.

Canvas Stretching?

A lot of different factors go into canvas strething. here at IPAF we do hand done gallery wrapped canvases, which means we need quite a bt of Salvage edge on the sides of the canvas, and that some of the painting may be on the side of the canvas. THIS IS INTENTIONAL, AND MOST PAINTINGS WILL HAVE NEGATIVE SPACE ON THE SIDES TO ACCOMODATE THIS.
